La Fondation pour l’Enfance est reconnue d’utilité publique et agit en faveur de l’enfance en danger et des parents en difficulté.
Un de nos axes d’intervention est de doter les parents de repères éducatifs et comportementaux pour répondre aux besoins de leur enfant, et les aider à se prémunir de difficultés affectives ou sociales ultérieures.
Les pratiques de violence ordinaire peuvent conduire à des impasses éducatives graves, et parfois même à des situations de maltraitance. Toute forme de violence peut avoir un retentissement sur l’enfant. Ce n’est plus une question morale mais médicale. C’est pourquoi la Fondation pour l’Enfance souhaite faire réfléchir les Français et changer les habitudes souvent héritées de notre éducation.
L’engagement de la Fondation pour l’Enfance s’inscrit dans une démarche générale et pérenne, à travers plusieurs dispositifs de sensibilisation mis en place depuis une dizaine d’années. Cette nouvelle prise de parole vient compléter une trilogie de campagnes de lutte contre les violences éducatives ordinaires débutée en 2011 et poursuivie en 2013.
Aujourd’hui, la violence conjugale ou la violence entre adultes d’une manière générale est sanctionnée et condamnée par la loi française dans le Code pénal. Une personne adulte violentée, que ce soit un homme ou une femme, a la possibilité de porter plainte pour violences graves ou violences légères, selon la nature de l’acte de violence (physique, psychologique, sexuelle ou verbale). Ces infractions sont bien punies par la loi. Ce même Code pénal français condamne les actes de cruauté et sévices graves à l’égard des animaux. Pourquoi la violence subie par l’enfant de la part d’un.e adulte est-elle la seule violence encore tolérée à ce jour dans notre société ?

Parler de manière positive à votre enfant permet de développer sa personnalité et sa confiance. Son sentiment de sécurité est essentiel. Par exemple, ne dîtes plus “Ne marche pas tout seul sur le bord de la route” mais plutôt “Je préfère que tu me donnes la main pour ta sécurité”.
Accepter les petits « incidents » de la vie
L’enfance est une période d’expérimentation constante. Les verres d’eau renversés, la nourriture par terre… sont des accidents inhérents à la vie de tous les jours qu’il faut accepter. L’enfant ne fait pas de « bêtise ». Nous devons considérer les enfants comme des chercheurs, des petits scientifiques qui expérimentent.
Gérer sa propre colère
Lorsque vous sentez les premiers signes de colère et de violence apparaître, prenez immédiatement du recul sur la situation. Respirez et essayez de comprendre pourquoi votre enfant a eu ce comportement. Tentez de gérer votre colère sans blesser l’enfant ni moralement ni physiquement.

Réussir à transmettre les règles de vie aux enfants sans menaces, chantage ou punition est une victoire et permet de maintenir l’harmonie au sein d’une famille.
